My 1st Sippy Cup!

I'm trying to introduce Ashlyn to the sippy cup early, so it will be easier to transition from the bottle when the time comes. At this stage, I think she likes chewing on it more than anything!

Halloween Preview

Granny bought Ashlyn the cutest Ladybug costume for Halloween. She said it was from Papa, since he would have loved to see her wearing it. So sweet. It has little tights that go with it, but I didn't put them on her today. We'll get plenty of pictures on Halloween to share!

Sleeping Like Mommy!

Ashlyn spreads out when she sleeps now! She wakes up a couple of times a night because she gets on her belly and can't figure out how to roll back over.

Papaw gave Ashlyn her first drink of water out of a bottle. She wouldn't leave the bottle alone after that! Later in the day, we sat on the front porch and Ashlyn watched cars drive by. She loves Papaw's house!

I think it's about time to get rid of the infant tub. I get soaked every night at bathtime now! I tried giving her a little mohawk, but her hair just isn't quite long enough!

Ashlyn loves Grandma Joy to read stories to her. She actually looks at the pages one by one and helps turns the pages... at six months!

Blue Jean Baby

Cute story... Ashlyn and I went to breakfast with Grandma Joy one morning at Cracker Barrel. She slept the whole time, and halfway through our meal this elderly gentleman named Harold came up to me and started talking about how sweet Ashlyn was and how much he loves children. He asked if I had started her a Piggy Bank yet. I said, "no sir, not yet." He reached in his wallet and gave Ashlyn a dollar and said it's time to start her one! Having lost Papa a couple of weeks before, this brought a tear to my eye. Mr. Harold reminded me so much of my Papa. He used to always give away his dollars and quarters to his grandchildren. We asked Mr. Harold where he went to church and he told us Cornerstone. Come to find out, this is the church Papa watched on television every Sunday morning when he was sick and couldn't make it out to his own church. There are angels among us, and I believe Mr. Harold was one of them. I'm going to start Ashlyn a Piggy Bank and call it the "Harold Bank."

On the way home from breakfast, I stopped at the park and played with Ashlyn for a little while. She loved swinging and playing Peek-A-Boo. She is definitely an outside girl!
